Britt & Bryce

A couple of drinks on Melbourne Cup day, a first date at the beach eating ice cream, and eight years later here they are - raising two kids and still entirely different people who just work. Britt describes them as yin and yang. Entirely opposite but somehow exactly right. That energy came through from the very first enquiry and never let up. They wanted something intimate, relaxed, and completely them. A ceremony with their favourite people, good bubbles, and a really good meal to finish. A Newcastle elopement at Tatt Brat was always going to suit them.

The Day

Britt and Bryce arrived at Tatt Brat mid-morning with pinks and reds setting the tone. Six guests. Britt's parents, Bryce's brother Morgan and his wife, and their two kids, Hazey and Noah. That was the whole guest list and honestly, it was more than enough.

The ceremony started at ten. Three-year-old Hazey and nine-year-old Noah walked down the aisle together to meet their dad, who was already waiting at the end. Then Britt came down with her dad. Georgie kept things moving exactly how these two wanted it - real, to the point, full of love. They said their own vows (printed and brought themselves, because they had it handled). Noah brought the rings forward. Morgan and Erika signed as witnesses. And then they were married.

We spilled outside for a champagne pop on the street, group photos out front, and sparkling apple juice for the kids. Guests hung around while we grabbed family portraits inside, then we headed out into Newcastle's East End for couple and family shots. The Bond street photo spot, then up to a rooftop carpark where the light was doing its thing. From there we wandered to Popolo for ice cream, then came Tower Cinemas, where we got lucky enough to be let into a cinema before the next movie (Romeo & Juliet) started. Britt and Bryce in front of a giant red velvet curtain. One of those moments you don't plan for but are very glad happened.

And to finish it all off? Back to Tatt Brat, where the pair got matching tattoos. Because what other way is there to end your elopement at a tattoo studio.

Thinking about eloping in Newcastle? We'd love to make your day look and feel something like this.
